From the Standard Examiner: "It was literally their last chance.
The win pulls the teams even in the Region 1 table with 15 points each, but gave Fremont a valuable tiebreaker with a two-game season series sweep over the Warriors. Its's the Wolves' fourth straight win and seventh in eight games in the long-standing rivalry.
"We've had a hard time getting the momentum going this year," Fremont coach Bryan Gines said. "We needed something to pick us up; hopefully this is it. I know we're better than we've been playing."
Fremont and Weber both created numerous chances and shots through the 99-plus minutes, but neither defense would break until those dying seconds.
"We've been struggling on scoring goals," Gines said. "We've been playing well, we just can't put it in the net."
The winning tally was set up after Fremont won a free kick in the deep left corner, launching the kick across the goalmouth where it was headed by Scott Chambers back to the middle of the goal for a waiting Russell, who knocked it just under the crossbar.
