At the beginning of the game, it looked as if there was a possibility of it turning into a barn-burner. Riverton's offense, which looked like a hypnotic blur with its fancy pinstriped jerseys, along with Fremont's relentless defense that refused to back down, were shaping up into the clash of the titans.
However, the tides began to change as the clock wore on. Fremont systematically dissected Riverton's defense. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary about the way Fremont conducted itself, the Silver Wolves from up north simply executed their game plan to perfection. The first goal finally hit home at the 33rd minute in the first half, as Mason Russell tapped the ball into the corner of the net.
Although the fans and players alike were unaware at the time, that goal was all that was needed for the win. They were about to witness a performance for the ages from Fremont goalkeeper Colton Higley, who was nothing short of superman.
