The Fremont High School Boys Soccer team started their season this week with games against Woods Cross High School and Mountain Crest. Their first game was at the Woods Cross Football Stadium on the artificial turf. The final score does not fully explain how well the Fremont players played; they controlled the ball well and had multiple shots on goal, but lost by a score of 2-1. Our goal was scored by Tavin Parker on a cross from Dalton Gullo during the first half of the game.
The Second Team beat Woods Cross 2-0 on scores by Jesse Wilson and Alec Stimpson.
The Mountain Crest game was also played away from Fremont although it was a "home" game. Our field was too wet to play on, so the game was moved to the Hooper fields. Again, the score wasn't indicative of the way the Fremont players moved the ball. Mountain Crest scored their first goal on a long shot outside of the eighteen that slipped through Keeper Colten Higley's hands. Their second goal came on a spectacular header late in the second half. Our goal was scored by CJ Anglen during the first half. The score at the end of the cold, windy game was 2-1 for Mountain Crest.
